Delhi Police arrests absconding criminal

At the Uttam Nagar Police Station in Delhi on Sunday, a squad from the Delhi Crime Branch made an arrest in relation to a robbery case. He had been evading capture for the last five years.

DCP Crime Vichitra Veer claims that “A tip regarding a wanted criminal named Mukesh Sharma, a resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi, was sent to the Northern Range-II of Crime Branch unit at Rohini Sector-18, Delhi. Cases were filed against him under sections 392, 411, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the crime that occurred on December 27, 2017.”

In his complaint, the complainant claimed to be a cab driver who had come to drop off customers near Uttam Nagar in Delhi.

Four people had abruptly stopped in front of his automobile and entered the road in front of him. They allegedly forced the complainant out of his car, stole his money and phone, and fled. Sunil and Mukesh were two of the people who were immediately arrested; the other two people managed to flee.

Mukesh jumped bail and failed to show up in court for the trial, but Sunil and Mukesh eventually received bail from the court. Later, the court issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest as well as an order for the accused’s property to be attached.

Later, after receiving information, Crime Branch discovered Mukesh’s hiding place in Dwarka, Delhi, and the culprit was arrested.
