Sustainability Deep Dive 2021

This virtual event will take place on June 9-10, 2021 (4 hours each day) it is focused on helping ensure the ongoing health of our planet and its precious resources. IDSA’s Sustainability Deep Dive seeks to leverage the power of industrial designers to establish new ways of thinking and methodologies in their studios, companies, and corporate settings. As the developers of products and services used by billions of people around the world, industrial designers hold a crucial position: one that demands we look for ways in which their work can ignite social, cultural, and institutional change.

Following the success of their first Deep Dive exploring this topic in 2020, they are continuing their efforts to create a platform that allows industrial designers to connect and share resources that will lead us to a more sustainable future. As the developers of products and services used by billions of people around the world, industrial designers hold a crucial position. The current situation demands that we ignite social, cultural, and institutional change.

Topics covered include (but are not limited to): Circular design/economy, sustainable material innovations and manufacturing processes, zero-waste strategies, changing consumer behavior, closed-loop product development, biomimicry, product packaging, and much more.

Attendees of this virtual event will hear from talented designers with proven product development track records across a broad spectrum of sustainable product development practices. All sessions will be recorded and made available post-event for ticket holders only.
