The Nifty Pharma index was trading 2.08 per cent down at 9,358.8 around 12:09 pm with most of its components trading in the red.
Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Aurobindo Pharma, Biocon and Cadila Healthcare were among the top losers in the index.
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Lupin and Divi’s Laboratories too appeared among the laggards
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.25 points at 10,495.45 while the BSE Sensex was up 21.13 points at 34,834.12 at that time.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
Shares of Tata Motors, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp, Bank of Baroda, HPCL, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank and Hindalco Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
