After the successful completion of the project, he moved to Kuwait in 1983 to work with a construction contracting company as an engineer. His responsibilities focused on supervising electromechanical works, preparing submittals and shop drawings, commissioning electro-mechanical systems and managing the quality of non-process type construction projects, civil construction projects and A/E type construction projects.

The Gulf War in 1990 presented a significant turning point for Dr. Rumane. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with an engineering consultant firm in Saudi Arabia, supervising construction works for allied forces.
