The Xilet are born with mental abilities. All children are between three and three and a half feet tall, with Blue Skin, black eyes, a smooth head, and small, orange horn buds around the face. They appear to be normal children aside from the obvious differences and the fact they have immense mental abilities. Every child has basic mental abilities at their command; telepathy, sense presence, mental shield, aural vision, and telekinesis. The adults teach them about discipline and how to use and hone their current abilities. There are no indications what role a child might mature into, so they are taught the basics of Xilet society and the running of the ships they call home.


Xilet society is based on class separations with unique individual abilities and characteristics; Command, Warrior, Scout, Sensor, Recorder, Marx, and Barr. During maturation, a Xilet child will change according to the blueprints of their genes. They will mature into one of the six known classes; Command, Warrior, Scout, Sensor, Recorder, or Marx. On a very rare occasion a child does not mature and they are put into a separate class; Barr.


Each class has specific duties and a place in Society, except for Barr. Xilet Children go through an absolute transformation into their distinctive classes. Their changes mark them as one class or another with no mistakes for error. After the maturation, their foreheads are marked with their class symbol and are educated to the role they play in society. They gain additional abilities specific to the class they mature into. There are an equal number of males and females within each class; both sexes go through the exact same maturation changes, though the body structures are slightly different.


None of the seven known classes know about the three hidden classes; Queen, Basic, Prime. The Prime class makes sure they are safely hidden and taken care of. All knowledge of their existence has been lost to history.


Class Distinctions:


Command class are military and society leaders. They command the rest of the race aboard their ships or various home planets. They are the ruling class. All the command class are mentally linked together; what one knows, all knows. They are one of the least abundant people, with only a handful maturing in any given year. They can mentally communicate with any Xilet at any time. They have perfect features and a charismatic, awe-like commanding presence. They have dark blue skin, black eyes, smooth heads, and range in height from six to six and a half feet tall. They have small orange horns nubs on the top of their head which resembles a crown.



Warrior class are the most abundant of all the classes. They are incredibly strong, tough, and well muscled for fighting and manual labor. They are the largest of all the Xilet and are the soldiers for the race. The small buds around the face have grown into inch long, extremely sharp, swirled horns. Their head is completely bald with two tightly curled ram horns upon the head. They have dark blue skin and black eyes. Their height ranges from six and a half to eight feet tall.



Recorder class are the historians, science researchers, educators, and healers of society. They are the second most abundant people. They have dark blue skin, black eyes, smooth heads, and stand five to six feet in height with an average build. They have small, bright orange horn nubs surrounding the face.



Sensor class are information specialists, technicians, and technology researchers. They are the first to sense the enemy. They build, repair, modify, or adapt whatever is needed. They are the third most abundant people in society. They have dark blue skin with metallic gray splotches, and solid, dark grey eyes. They range from five to six feet in height with an average build. They have smooth faces and bald heads.



Scout class are the explorers, scouts, and information gatherers. They make up about 15% of the population. Most lead solitary lives away from the rest of the Xilet on scouting missions. They are extremely slender and frail looking, but very tough in body, mind, and spirit. They range from four to five feet in height. They have dark blue skin, black eyes, a smooth head, and two downward pointing cheek bone horns.



Marx class are mysterious specialists. They are unlike other Xilet in that they can bond with a single creature once in their lifetime. Their body takes on some of the characteristics of the creature they bond with. They and the creature are as one. The Marx do the jobs no one else can do. They are specialized to do the impossible. They make up only 5% of the population and they tend to be loners, spending most of their time with their extremely loyal creature companion. Their skin color, body style, and characteristics change according to the creature they are bonded with. They start around four feet tall, dark blue skin, and light blue eyes, but can change dramatically with the bonding. They carry a staff like weapon formed from materials around them as part of the bonding experience.



Barr class are children who have never matured and are considered stunted children, with no known cure. They are the lowest of the classes and are unwanted in society; usually sold as slaves to whoever wants them. They are extremely rare with one or two within a millennium. They retain the basic abilities and looks of childhood, but have no place in Xilet society. They have dark blue skin, black eyes, with small, orange horn buds surrounding the face, and stand three to three and a half feet tall. A period of one to two years after the maturation date is waited in the hopes of eventual maturation, before getting rid of them. The Barr class has some kind of natural mental and physical barrier in place to prevent any kind of mental control or tampering of the body. The Xilet know their secrets are safe and discard them as unwanted pests. They will sell the Barr class to any race who wants them.
