BOOK REVIEW #28- HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

Finally, I read the Book. I finished it few days back but haven't got the time to review it. So here goes,

BLURB:

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

MY THOUGHTS:

“The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.”

The truth is I was Engorimpressed!!

Okay! Finally, I read it after days, since its release. I'm not ashamed to start this so late. I just don't want it to end sooner.

Basically, I'm a person, who feels overjoyed by simply seeing or hearing Harry Potter name somewhere. I could forever read every book, even if there are thousand if it revolves around the wizarding world. I don't know when I become so obsessed with Harry Potter because I haven't grown up with him. I just read the books two years back, not sure. Since then, I was a sucker for the wizarding world. I don't know what I would do if there are not fanfictions. Those stories are the one which would keep me sane, when I was depressed or when I need more magic. Though they couldn't have the same standard as Rowling, there are still good stories out there, one would enjoy those too. For the people like me, this is such a glorious treat, which could somewhat lessen your cravings for the world.

From the very beginning, I was enthralled to start the book. The first moment I opened the book to read, I cried with joy. I was so happy to know that there was once again another book, to experience it the first time, with our beloved characters. Pretty much, I tried to avoid the spoilers at all costs before reading. But one could simply not see the spoilers when it was all over the internet. I managed to avoid spoiler free reviews too.

I flew through the book. It was so quick to read. It completely blew up my mind. And I savored every second of it. There are a lot of aww, shit and hilarious moments. I was gobsmacked of being in Hogwarts once again. But that was not the case for some inside characters. I won't say anything more than necessary. Good to see some new characters, though they haven't caught my attention. Some hateful old characters were there too. Even it felt so heart-warming to hate those characters.

For People who are saying that this doesn't satisfy their needs or it doesn't go well with other books. This is what I'm saying for them "What do you expect when they clearly mentioned that this was a script book. So how can it bloody well include a detailed description?"

I was little afraid when people talked that this was some kind of twisted fanfiction. But both my mind and my heart was completely ready(they both never accept the same thing often) even it's a fanfiction, but it's not. I'll gladly accept(which I haven't, before reading the book) this as the eighth book.

I couldn't finish this review without talking about Scorpius. Bloody hell, he was such a cutieeee. He is damn hilarious and completely different from the Draco we know. I adore him so much.
This one definitely increased my cravings for more books.

MY RATING: OUTSTANDING!
