MY THOUGHTS:
ALERT: CUTENESS OVERLOADED!
Nowadays, I kind of want to read more diverse books. This was because of the crap that happened a few days back. It’s really sad I couldn’t participate in DIVERSATHON that is happening this week. At least, I read a Book which focuses on diversity. I don’t know why some people hate diverse characters. As a reader, one should appreciate these things with an open mind. Suppose, if you hate these things in a book, please do a favor and try to ignore reading those books or at least please stop bashing about it. Everyone has feelings, even though they don’t want to admit, it will hurt.
NOW, let’s talk about the book. Wow, I really liked it. Author did a really good job on observing how they feel and put it in a way which is freaking awesome.
“Some straight kid who barely knows me, advising me on coming out”.
Yeah, I understand. We both are seeing in a different way. It’s not our choice to decide when they should come out. It’s theirs. If they want to keep it as a secret from the society, then they can. The thing they fear is how the society will treat them once the truth has been revealed. It’s just a shame, how we made them feel. It’s our responsibility to support them. It doesn’t matter whether they are black or gay or bisexual or anything. The real ‘you’ is the thing which is more important.
I’m sorry for ranting things. This book made me wonder a lot of things. You see, this thing happens in LGBT books. Not that I read more books on that. I read only two. But in both books, when they come out of the thing, they were treated badly. They were beaten up. It was so heartbreaking. But thank god, it didn’t happen here. I was so relieved. Simon does really has supporting friends and family.
AHH, once again, the Harry Potter freak in me enjoyed the book.
I think I found another cute Couple. Last two books I read also have awesome characters. When I read one book, a couple will be freaking adorable. And then when I moved on to next, another cute couple comes. I guess they’re fighting over which couple would be best in my opinion. Of course, I love all of them.
And I must really say this, SIMON IS ADORABLE, when he gushes over Harry Potter when he realizes he is in love and everything screams CUTESY.
To be honest, I did a lot of guessing game on who will be Blue. And of course, my guess was right ;) And I don’t know what abusive comments I’m going to get for this review, but it would be fun to read those.
