It seems a little weird to read Forman's first Adult novel without reading her young adult books. But after reading this, I guess I definitely need to check out her other books.
I never knew I had it in me to read an adult fiction and enjoy it. Yup, Maribeth the protagonist is in her forties.
I literally flew through the book. If I was not intrigued, I wouldn't have read so fast.
The thing I learned is that you should ask for help when you need it. I'm literally the same person as Maribeth. I never share anything with others. I guess, by bottling everything inside myself, my heart would explode someday. Anything could happen. So when they encouraged her to talk about that, I was thinking maybe I should do that too.
When a book made you think, it was definitely something. The writing was so real, it was like I'm reading the story of my neighbor.
Ah, I forgot to mention this one. You see, I love it when other books mention Harry Potter. And that happens here too. I was fangirling too hard.
I never looked through their perspectives. How do they feel? It made me thinking whether this is how my mom felt when my brother and I acted towards her. You see, her twins would cause a lot of trouble(activities), not intentionally of course.
She needs to be cared not the one to take care of others and that too after she went through her bypass surgery. So she frees herself from her life. And that was, leaving her life and went to another city. And there, how she managed to do that, you need to read and find that, of course.
I really appreciate it when women try to live without depending on someone. So I liked it when she went on, even though for a short time. Though, I'm not encouraging anyone to run away from their problems. It may take courage and some time, but YOU ONLY can face it.
