I had a recent conversation about Disney’s Animal films. It reminded me of when I was a kid, in the sixties, because Disney made a lot of educational films about animals in those days.

Academy Awards.

Disney created a series of fourteen films under the banner True-Life Adventures and the series won eight Academy Awards. Three of the Academy Awards were for Best Documentary Feature for The Living Desert, The Vanishing Prairie and White Wilderness. If I remember correctly, these were all shown at our Junior school in England. Certainly most of these would have been seen on TV during Christmas in the sixties. Sadly, these films are never seen on TV anymore.

One clip in particular stands out for me and a vision of the animals involved is indelibly imprinted on my mind. The short clip here is of that very film and involves animals eating wild and rotting fruit, which has been slowly fermenting to form natural alcohol.
