A Small Victory

Everyday is the same old routine
try to climb out to see the tree green
climb half way but fall back down
To escape this pit of night and grab my crown

Everyday you wait for me up there,
because of your strength this torture I bear.
otherwise I would not even try the climb,
and be a victim of the darkness of my time.

Everyday when I fail to reach you,
something that you always knew.
Not a harmful word you would say,
and I always know night cant drive you away.

Everyday I listen to your words of wisdom,
and the stories of your great kingdom.
I dream of the day that I climb out of this hell,
and hear the tolling of the kingdom bell.

Today I swore not to be the failure I was,
and escape nights serrated jaws.
I climb out of the pit and into your arms,
here my destiny lies safe from harm.

I journey to the tree with you,
Even though many pits will i fall through
Today you have taken away my misery,
and gifted me a small victory.
