Latest Update On Newest Released And Soon To Be Released Thrillers-12/1/15

Just to give you an update on the release dates for the newest additions to the series that I have reviewed.

Soon to be Released

James Rollins’ Bone Labyrinth (Expected Release Date 12/15/15)

A Sigma Force Novel

A series of strange events throws the world into turmoil. As a manned Chinese rocket explodes upon launch, three American astronauts, each separated by thousands of miles, are murdered. Then an archaeologist in Croatia uncovers a new cavern system that reveals elaborate primitive paintings by a tribe of Neanderthals. The artwork, painted in blood, illustrates an immense battle between the Neanderthals—joined by Homo sapiens—and frightening shadowy figures.

Who is the ancient enemy depicted and what does it mean? The search for answers will take Commander Gray Pierce of Sigma Force 50,000 years back in time. As he and Sigma trace the evolution of human intelligence back to its true source, they will be plunged into a war for the future of humanity that stretches across the globe . . . and beyond.

From ancient tunnels in Ecuador that span the breadth of South America to a millennia-old necropolis holding the bones of our ancestors, from the lost archives tied to the sunken continent of Atlantis to the first moon landing, Sigma embarks on its most harrowing journey ever—and faces off against its greatest threat: an ancient evil, resurrected by modern genetic science, strong enough to bring about the end of man’s dominance on this planet.

Only this time, Sigma will falter—and the world we know will change forever.

Aaron Elkins’ Switcheroo (Expected Release Date 2/16/15)

A Gideon Oliver Novel

The Skeleton Detective is back.

A cold case dating from the 1960s draws forensic anthropologist Gideon Oliver to the Channel Islands decades later to shine a light on the mysterious connection between two men who died there on the same night.

Swapped as young boys by their fathers during the Nazi occupation, wealthy Roddy Carlisle and middle-class George Skinner had some readjusting to do after the war ended—but their lives remained linked through work, trouble with the law, and finally, it would seem, through murder.

Nobody expects that Gideon’s modern-day investigation will turn up fresh bodies. But old bones tell many tales, and the Skeleton Detective has to be at his sharpest to piece together the truth before the body count mounts still higher.

She and famed forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme soon learn, however, that the incident may not be an accident at all, but the first in a series of intentional attacks. As the body count threatens to grow, Sachs and Rhyme must race against the clock to unmask his identity–and discover his mission–before more people die.

J.A. Schneider’s Razor Sharp (Released on 10/25/15)

An Embryo Novel

A Jack the Ripper type killer is murdering male prostitutes, with one exception…

A young woman is found brutally attacked with a straight razor, her cruel facial mutilation the only link to three other horrific murders: a transgender woman, a transvestite, and a 17-year-old hustler. So nasty are those three born-male kills that the psychopath seems to be saying, they’re all males…

FROM HELL he scrawls, taunting the NYPD with the original Jack the Ripper’s 1888 letter to the police. This killer is cunning: wears gloves, disguises, and leaves no physical evidence. At a loss, the police ask “one small favor” from physicians Jill Raney and David Levine, friends and – until now, detectives on their own. “No warrant? No problem!” had been their mantra…until their relationship with the cops led to exhaustion and conflict.

But they share the horror that grips the country and agree to help, thus plunging into an unimaginable and terrifying maze of psycho-sexual obsession and madness.

Jeff Lindsay’s Red Tide (Released on 10/27/15)

A Billy Knight Novel

Along with his plucky, gun-happy friend, Nicky, and Anna, a resilient and mysterious survivor of her own horrors, Billy sets out to right the wrongs the police won’t, putting himself in mortal peril on the high seas.

Patricia Cornwell’s Depraved Heart (Released on 10/27/15)

A Scarpetta Novel

Depraved Heart: “Void of social duty and fatally bent on mischief.”

—Mayes v. People, 806 III. 306 (1883)

Dr. Kay Scarpetta is working a suspicious death scene in Cambridge, Massachusetts when an emergency alert sounds on her phone. A video link lands in her text messages and seems to be from her computer genius niece Lucy. But how can it be? It’s clearly a surveillance film of Lucy taken almost twenty years ago.

As Scarpetta watches she begins to learn frightening secrets about her niece, whom she has loved and raised like a daughter. That film clip and then others sent soon after raise dangerous legal implications that increasingly isolate Scarpetta and leave her confused, worried, and not knowing where to turn. She doesn’t know whom she can tell—not her FBI husband Benton Wesley or her investigative partner Pete Marino. Not even Lucy.

In this new novel, Cornwell launches these unforgettable characters on an intensely psychological odyssey that includes the mysterious death of a Hollywood mogul’s daughter, aircraft wreckage on the bottom of the sea in the Bermuda Triangle, a grisly gift left in the back of a crime scene truck, and videos from the past that threaten to destroy Scarpetta’s entire world and everyone she loves. The diabolical presence behind what unfolds seems obvious—but strangely, not to the FBI. Certainly that’s the message they send when they raid Lucy’s estate and begin building a case that could send her to prison for the rest of her life.

Not since Bonnie has Eve had such an experience, and suddenly she finds herself determined to solve the murder and help the little girl find peace. A Reilly Steel Novel

A random attack? Or a carefully choreographed diversion?
When a revered Irish sportsman is viciously attacked in his Dublin home during an apparent robbery-in-progress, Reilly Steel and the GFU team are tasked with finding the perpetrator.

Such a high-profile victim ensures the investigation is immediately under the spotlight, but Reilly worries that celebrity may be blinding everyone to the fact that nothing – in particular the victim’s wife – is quite what it seems.

Can she persuade her colleagues to look past the celebrity and carefully constructed public persona, and convince everyone that there is a lot more to this famous family than meets the eye?

Bette Golden Lamb and JJ Lamb’s Bone Dust (Released Date 9/3/15)

A Gina Mazzio, R.N. Novel

This is the FIFTH fast-paced MEDICAL THRILLER in The Gina Mazzio Series

Is it possible to get so busy you don’t notice a stalker? Actually, it’s likely, in a hospital, in the middle of a deadly flu epidemic. Your focus is on saving people, not looking over your shoulder. So it almost happens to San Francisco RN Gina Mazzio, who’s further distracted by personal issues.

But then a fellow nurse gets killed. Even in the middle of a break-up with a long-time boy friend, and the chaos of the epidemic, there’s no ignoring that. And the nurse isn’t the only one—a lot more patients are dying than ought to be.

Then come the threats.

In a Gina Mazzio medical thriller, it’s never just a murder mystery; or even just a hospital mystery. It’s likely to be a conspiracy, a kidnapping, something really big—or else a lot of somethings. In this one, Gina herself is being targeted by the murderer, and her estranged love, Harry Lucke, is the target of her vicious ex-husband. As if that weren’t enough, even nurses aren’t immune from the flu—Gina gets it, and now, sick as the proverbial Fido, she has to deal with not one but two murderers. Plus the mysterious flu deaths.

These authors really know how to amp it up! They make you see things that’ll keep you awake—if your pounding heart isn’t enough.

For fans of hard-boiled medical crime and suspense. As well as lovers of, strong women sleuths, hospital mysteries, and all medical fiction, especially fans of Tess Gerritsen, Carolyn McCray, Eileen Dreyer, Lisa Genova and Robin Cook.
