The one thing that Ryan is certain of is that when the day comes, her mate will be there to save her. Two months early she pulls him to her accidentally and he claims her, but Ryan has to remove his memory of her so that they meet at the right time). Years later and her mate never showed, leaving Ryan's body to slowly die. That is until Hudson shows up to protect her, little realising that the two of them already know each other very well indeed...

I got a little over excited when I saw that there was a sequel to The Guardians coming. I loved the book, and even though I read it nearly a year ago I still remembered that I wanted more. And Crossing Hudson was defiantly worth waiting for. Though the story itself is about different characters there are links to the story and characters of the first book and I found they clicked into place as I read.

There were times when I wanted to bang Ryan and Hudson's heads together, especially because as a reader it was clear what they were together, particularly because of their insane level of chemistry. It must be said that Hudson (and JP) clocked on a lot faster than Ryan did and I kept mentally berating her for not clocking on...though I cared enough for the characters to do that which says a lot!)

Other than her seeming cluelessness about males in her life, I found Ryan to be a great character. The Ryan at the beginning of the book was vastly different from the Ryan in the rest of it, and as her story slowly came out I couldn't help but feel for her at the same time as admiring the strength Roth chose to give her. She was actually a strong female character and she didn't want to let the man have her just because he wanted her.

There were a few twists in the book, one of which was adorable and I want to see more of it! (Sorry that's all I'm saying!) I really hope there's more still to come from The Guardians, because this was another great read!
