That seems to be a very long synopsis for a Book that wasn't actually that long (which I knew before reading. It was actually one of the reasons I picked it up. I fancied something a bit crime-like and have a little bit of a back log to get through, so something like this was perfect.
The Certificate defintiely kept me reading. There was something about it that definitely hooked the Reader, which I think could have been that the narrator kept a lot of things in the dark. The suspense did grow through the book, but I kind of thought that the ending let it down a little bit.
Jane was a very difficult character to like (which I'm supposing is very much the point). She was very critical of herself (so as a reader you would probably imagine that she isn't quite as bad as she seems to think she is) but she also does some not very nice things. On the other hand she is very real. Her responses to the people around her, and the thoughts in her head, all resonated as true.
This was an interesting quick read, not quite what I expected though!
