Having lost their friend Crystal to a Beast, and trying to pull themselves together, Jake and his friends are on a mission to save Longbrooke from it's latest problems. With the whole town in a state of lethargy and mysterious happenings seem to be going on. Jake has to face some of his demons all while trying to learn more about his powers.

I still have more questions! That's my main response! Lost Souls was a great read, not that I expected any less, but Amos Cassidy have a real talent for leavimg the reader wanting more, especially when the supernatural is involved! I'm looking forward to learning more about the world!

I love that even when they're saving the world, Jake and his friends have a real sense of friendship about them. They can tease each other about things like weird food habits, and comment on how good their cups of tea are (these characters are so British!) There was also the suggestive banter between Jake and Dean that wasn't meant half the time! The best one was when chocolate biscuits turned into flirting!

The romance in Lost Souls is subtle, though completely integrated into the story. There is Jake who is still mourning the loss of his husband, Michael, but is attracted to Dean. Then there's Ivy and Samuel who mostly seem to have a dream relationship. It was an interesting mix.

I hate having to mention this but I know some people can be funny about it. Lost Souls has a main character who is gay. I honestly didn't really notice it as I was reading, it's just a part of his personality and his thoughts were directed towards men instead of women.

I really enjoyed Lost Souls and can't wait to see where this goes next!
