My Life This Week

So this week has been one of those. Nothing bad has happened really, and there have even been some super good things going on, but there's also been this overwhelming feeling of being down. I'm hoping it's just a minor relapse because I don't want to go back down the road of feeling crap all the time. But anyway good things:

  • I saw two of my Uni friends last weekend, and met one of their partners which was really fun! It's like setting a reset button!
  • I recieved my invite to the first of two weddings this summer
  • I managed to book our flights to Amsterdam for my friend's Hen Party (different friend to the above wedding!)
  • My AMAZING best friend text me telling me we were going to the Spa when I go visit her next month
  • Our Brownie Unit is now up to 17 girls, may not sound like many but village units are lucky to get the recommended minimum of 12!
Of course throughout all this my dishwasher at work is still broken causing everyone to be annoyed (including my boss because the company we're contracted to won't fix it!) So that's turning out to be really fun.

My Writing This Week

I have written a little bit of my Phantom of the Opera retelling this week. Not much but to be honest when I've been feeling like I have this week, writing anything is a real achievement!

Review copies of my novella, Awakening, on instafreebie. Today is the last day you can do this! This is the first book in my on going Alventia series and is mainly a retelling of Sleeping Beauty (though Hansel and Gretel also get a look in, and the prequel Betrayed which is in the Amidst the Shadows anthology, is a Rumplestiltskin type retelling) You can get a copy here

Reading This Week

So this week I kind of completed one of my year long challenges (2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge). I'll carry on adding up my points though because now I want to see if I can beat last year's total! Also just a warning I may have gone on a little Huss reading spree...I just couldn't help it, I had to complete the series!

Onyx by Alicia Michaels
Come Back by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge)
Empire Rising by Cheyanne Young ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 New Release Challenge, 2016 Netgalley & Edelweiss Challenge)
Slack by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 Reading Assignment)
Nexis by A L Davroe (2016 Netgalley & Edelweiss Challenge)
Taut by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 Reading Assignment)
Bomb by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 Reading Assignment)
Guns by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 Reading Assignment)
Happily Ever After by JA Huss ( 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 Read the Books You Buy)

On the Blog This Week

You can check out last week's Sunday Post here. Luckily I do now seem to have got ahead of myself with reviews, so I have a few days to relax if I don't finish a book in time!

My non-JA Huss reviews this week all seemed to fall into the scifi/dystopia, with superheroes in Empire Rising by Cheyanne Young and Silk by Michelle M Pillow, and futuristic video games in Nexis by A L Davroe. While Onyx by Alicia Michaels which was a Sci fiShakespere retelling.

The other three reviews this week were all JA Huss books (with three more scheduled over the next few days, I just couldn't help myself sorry!) I reviewed Come Back (Dirty, Dark and Deadly #2) and both of Ford's spinoff books from the Rook and Ronin series (Slack & Taut).

Online Book Club

This month there were two winning books, The Lion's Heir and Death in Neverland, so there's a choice of which to read! Link up goes live on 24th March! You can check out the originalpost here
