Well, I first Began writing when I was about six-years-old. I wrote a really short story about a girl and her father going to Egypt, the girl falling through the ground and discovering this ancient tomb that she had to escape from before the entire thing self-destructed. From there, I wrote more small things– mostly about folklore and the likes. Like Nessie and Faery tales. The first novel-sized piece I ever wrote began when I was thirteen, maybe. And, a year and a half later, that was actually the first Book I ever posted to Wattpad after my friend recommended the site to me. A few months after that, I began a small ‘coming soon’ project titled ‘Naught Nyx The Necromancer’ that quickly unfolded into the ‘Born From Chaos’ everybody knows today.

I think that what I love the most is the fact that all those imaginary places and things I dream up in my sleep can actually be put on paper and, thanks to genres like fantasy and paranormal, it’s not going to seem weird.

I think the best part about Wattpad is that it’s a chance to really secure your confidence about writing and your abilities. Before I joined, I knew I had cool ideas, but after I joined and people actually began reading I received messages and comments from people all over the world and of all ages, congratulating me on my ability and my works. I think Wattpad, and the community it holds, is just a really encouraging environment and it really, really helped me find confidence. Plus, with awards like The Wattys and the Wattpad Featured program, you have the opportunity to actually be approached by, not only, publishing companies, but also multi-million-dollar names that offer to sponsor you (Eg. Born From Chaos was sponsored by The Walking Dead brand and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies). It’s just a really encouraging and supportive place that gives you some really amazing opportunities.

Honestly, I’ve never had comments were someone straight-forward does not like my work. I’ve had comments where someone may question the way I Write, my chapter length or some of the stupid things certain characters of mine may say. When comments like these come, it just takes a bit of explaining and usually the commenter understands where I’m coming from. But I’ve never really had a ‘bad’ comment about the book overall. Yet.

Well, I’m not really one for talking with random people– let alone dinner. But, I’d have to say, I would probably like to have dinner with Blue Sargent (from Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle) as we literally have the EXACT same personality and I think we’d get along really well. I’d probably have pasta. She might have pizza.

I definitely prefer the vicious, monster-type vampire. I think the romanticised vamps in ya novels today are all the same brooding, I-love-you-but-I-want-to-kill-you type– and I hate those ones. So yeah, definitely going for the traditional vamps.

(this is seriously the coolest interview I’ve ever done) If I had a time machine, I would probably go back to the time of exploration (minus the white-colonisation of lands and enslavement of different races) during the 1400-1800s. I just think it would have been an amazing time to be alive– the world’s expanding, there’s a heap of travel and hundreds of beautiful, amazing cultures are being found every day.

I can’t really say which piece of advice I wished I’d been given sooner. But, I wish I had understood the power of “ignorance is bliss” sooner than I had. People have said it to me my entire life and I never really fully took on its significance and importance until recently.

I think I would like to be a witch or wizard (no, I haven’t read Harry Potter) because I really don’t think there’s a limit to what they can do. I’m sure there’s spells that can enable you to become every other supernatural creature, so I might as well be the one that can do anything.

I think I write best with my laptop on a hard, stable surface so…. probably the dining room table.

I think the last book I read (and actually finished) was Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. It was the final book to one of my most favourite series ever and it was absolutely amazing– completely topped the first and second books. Amazing. I recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy to anyone and everyone.

Well, my main genre at the moment is paranormal, as BFC is a paranormal novel. If I weren’t in paranormal I could do fantasy, sci-fi and even just regular teen fiction with no magic.
