AIKEN'S NOTES: I hope that you have all enjoyed reading each of our Guest Blogger submissions as much as I have! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our 2010 Guest Blogger Series; your opinions, comments, compliments and critiques mean the world to me! I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback when our new Favorite Character Poll goes up on the site next month!

Let's Hear it for the Girls!

Jennifer Smith. Summer Greene. Mallorie Wright. Cute, smart, friendly, sports-loving Young ladies who make me want to stand up and cheer, not because all three are sweet, beautiful and charming, but because all three of them are tremendous role models for the countless Young Women who will read their stories. They are girls unashamed of their faith and resolute in their faith. They are young women who face various trails of life with class, grace and maturity that comes from their firm foundation as children of Christ.

Whether facing tragedy, heartbreak or the unknown, these characters turn to God for answers in dealing with situations too difficult for them to handle on their own. These characters are not perfect, nor do they profess to be. They are simply sold out to a savior who uses them to touch the lives of others within the pages of their respective novels, and, I pray, to shape and encourage those of us who read their stories.

I encourage young women to read In a Brother's Eyes: the Brant Mclachlan Story and For Such a Time as This and learn from characters such as Jennifer, Summer, Mallorie or more. I encourage young men to read In a Brother's Eyes: the Brant McLachlan Story and For Such a Time as This and to remember when searching for a mate that women like Jennifer, Summer and Mallorie are the sort of helpmate that God desires you to seek out. Together, the two of you can build a relationship centered on His love and grow stronger in your walk within Him.
