Unemployment is a Burning Problem of present day world. Many Nations -both developed and developing -are facing this problem. Of late the problem has reached alarming proportions in country like India. Even advanced countries like U.S.A are feeling the pinch of Unemployment.

The problem of unemployment is an off-shoot of population explosion. Every year universities and collages of our country are turning out thousands of qualified Young. Naturally most of them seek jobs.

The primary sector of India is agriculture. But all the young are not willing to fly on the fields. Agriculture offers work for few months. On all other days the farmers Remain Jobless. They add to the problem of unemployment as they move to the nearby towns and cities for work.

Every year the number of job seekers are increasing. Many aspire jobs in the Government. Our system of educations gives least preference to self-employment(entrepreneur). Industrial development is slow in India. Because of this large number of skilled workers remain jobless. Adding fuel to fire some times recessions hits the worst to employment .Even highly trained doctors and engineers are without jobs .

The youth of the country are not willing to be self-employed. If this small mistake can be analyzed and rectified then any country can be the No.1 power with in no time. Todays youth wait for years to get the Government job. Some times those wishing to self employment is discouraged. They find it is hard to secure the required capital. Getting loans from government agencies is long process.

This discourages them.

There is no easy solution to the problem of unemployment. First, we should create the awareness for this burning issue. And bring to every individual concern and make them to understand the seriousness of problem. Control measures are to be taken on growth of population. Educated young men have to understand that the government cannot provide jobs for all. They have to open up the doors of self employment. Young should find the dignity in labour.

Job oriented courses are to be started in schools and colleges. Industrialization should raise its standard and improve performance. Industrialization has to be in large scale. Governament should encourage self employment schemes. But this requires a good co-operation of the people. Cottage industries should be developed by improving handicrafts. Then only we miss to find the word in press and public “Unemployment”.
