I haven't listened to an audiobook in a long time that hooked me the way this novel hooked me! This book would be great to read on paper, but if you have the chance to listen to the audiobook, I highly recommend. The cast of character voices, plus the realistic nature of being able to hear the podcast portions instead of reading them, absolutely blew me away. The audiobook is ten hours and I listened to it (on 1.5 speed) in only a day and a half! I couldn't stop listening.
Alix Summer is a podcaster looking for a new subject. One evening, she meets a woman named Josie in her local pub. Improbably, they are both celebrating their forty-fifth birthdays. Several days later, they meet again at the school where Alix's children are students, and Josie suggests herself as an ideal subject for Alix's podcast: a woman who shares her birthday and whose life, Josie says, is full of fascinating material. Alix agrees, though once she begins to see what sort of person Josie really is, she develops minor misgivings that turn into serious doubts and then terrifying suspicions. If you're looking for a suspenseful novel that will keep you guessing until the very end, None of This is True is the book for you!
