It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday - Oct 23

Welcome to It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Welcome back to Monday! We are almost at the end of October. Are you ready for trick or treaters next week? It seems like parties and trunk or treats are more in favor these days than going door to door. I'm not sure how many visitors we will have.

This last week was a wild one. In between fighting off this cold at a time when I have three closings over seven days, we had to take Dwight to the emergency vet. Seems he swallowed something he shouldn't have. We thought he was headed for surgery, but they filled him with fluids and he passed it on his own. I'm so glad he is feeling better, because his brother Travis was lost without him when Dwight was in the hospital.

Heading home

NaNoWriMo prep is moving along. I am such a slow plotter. I'm not sure if I will be fully ready on November 1, but whatever I accomplish will be more than I had done in the past.

In  my reading world, this Review appeared on Tuesday. You can read it here.

You can be on the lookout for my First Chapter Review of this book today.

The First Chapter Review of this one is scheduled for October 31.

This review is scheduled for November 20, but already appears at Goodreads if you're interested.

I listened to a bit of this one on Audible.

I started this one.

I reviewed this one at The Children's and Teen's Book Connection.

I also started this one on Audible.

I also reviewed the Love comes Softly movie and asked readers how they feel about scene and character changes when books are made into films. You can find my review here and check out the other post here.

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

The author sent me a copy of this book to review.

Raven is bored. Nothing ever happens in the fields around Bethlehem until...
One night, a dazzling star lights up the sky and angels gather to sing. The Savior has been born!

Now Raven has a mission. He will fly and bring the message to the other birds. They are excited to bring gifts to the Christ child, but what, Raven wonders, could he possibly bring?

Based on an old legend, Biblical birds hear Raven’s call and celebrate the birth of Jesus in a tale of determination, perseverance, faith, and generosity.

That is it for me this week. Today is crazy, but I will do my best to check in at your blogs as quickly as possible. Hope you enjoy your week.
