Egyr

The Egyr originally came from a small, dense Planet called Khrödga, which orbited around a blue-white star. The planet had a strong magnetic field and an atmosphere made up of sulphur, helium, carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrogen. Vulcanization of the planet added to the chemicals already present in the atmosphere. Heat from the interior of the planet and ultraviolet radiation from the sun fueled chemical reactions in the atmosphere and on the planets surface causing metamorphism of the rocks and crystals and catalyzed the production of different molecules.

Over time, these molecules interacted and fused with each other to form into more complex molecules, capable of growing, extracting nutritional energy from its surroundings, and separate from itself expanding over larger areas. With no rivals or predators, they quickly spread throughout the atmosphere and over the surface of the planet.

These primitive inorganic organisms remained the only life form for millions of years, until the volcanism of the planet started to slow and eventually become dormant. Without the added heat and energy, the planet began to cool. Many of the organisms perished with the changing of the planetary conditions, while others found heat vents and other sources of energy to sustain them. Mutations began to emerge, caused by the environmental changes, promoting survival of the organisms. The disappearance of many of the original organisms provided room for the emerging of new species better equipped to handle the continual changes. Some of the changed organisms found protection within the atmosphere, while others scattered among the rocks, crystals, and molten lava on the ground.

Millions of years passed by, as the inorganic organisms found their niche, and developed into complex species capable of surviving in a variety of ways. Adaptation, competition, and isolation aided the process of natural selection in shaping the current and future life forms on the planet.

Eventually, the Egyr evolved to the point of becoming one of the dominant species on the planet. They had evolved into humanoid creatures of stone, capable of bearing and making weapons for protection from other organisms. As environmental conditions changed, they adapted and changed with it.

Aeons passed as their knowledge, skills, and technology grew. Their civilizations flourished and they eventually dominated the other organisms on the planet. They explored their environment and spread without limit, until they discovered the resources of their planet were diminishing faster than they could be renewed. They knew something must be done quickly. They gathered their information, explored all their options, and found only one solution; find more resources on a different world, so they looked to the stars. They gathered their remaining resources and built space ships to explore space and save their people from extinction.

They explored their own solar system and found the specific resources they needed on a few of the planets and moons. On one of the moons surrounding their planet, life had emerged different than their own. The resources they needed were plentiful within the ground, but the life forms on the planet didn't like trespassers. The Egyr used their knowledge, skills, and technology to quickly conquer the strange beings, and took over the planet for their own uses. They were saved, for the moment. Plans emerged to continue exploration, gather knowledge, and more importantly to find additional resources.

They spent the next few decades in improving their use of resources and upgrading their technology to use resources ignored in the past. Within these decades they continued their exploration within their solar system and began their search into other systems. Their successful exploits within their own solar system continued onto other solar systems reinforcing their methods of conquering and taking whatever they were in need of. Many life forms and several intelligent species were decimated or enslaved by the Egyr's in their mission of unjustified survival.

A planet in a near distant galaxy had an enormous amount of useful resources, viewed by a scout. The Egyr's knew about the violent race occupying the planet and approached the planet in force. They saw the violent race were destroying each other and launched an assault against them to finish the rest and secure the planet for themselves.

The violent race, the Siteim, banded together, reluctantly, for survival and defeated the Egyr never forgetting the aggressive invaders from the stars. The Egyr gathered the small amount of forces that were left and returned home to replenish their ranks and find easier places to acquire their resources.

Millenniums passed and their empire grew throughout this section of the universe. They were known to many races with a variety of reactions; from devotion to pure hatred and fear. Their technology grew along side their empire and eventually gained intellect and sentience; the Lopik. The war with their technology lasted 600 years. Towards the end of the long war, the Siteim caught up with the Egyr while they were losing their long battle with the Lopik. Many of the Egyr saw the Siteim ships and fled to their home planets to prepare for the invasion and to perpetuate their continued survival with contingency plans.

The Siteim went after the fleeing Egyr ships and destroyed those they caught up with. Throughout the next one hundred years the Egyr were slowly eliminated, at first by the Siteim, later by other races that had survived their tyranny and formed rebellion groups. The Egyr Empire fell within the one hundred years, but many Egyr escaped into the unknown universe. Many of the Egyr became mercenaries for hire and interacted with other races on a continual basis. A small portion of the original empire still existed and remained hidden until the day came they could come into power once again.
