The Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth has been recognised for its “outstanding collection” of Brontë artefacts.The museum become the 155th Designated Collection in England, celebrating the outstanding compilation of items belonging to and created by the Brontë family found in their family home in Haworth, Yorkshire.It is the only museum awarded designation by Arts Council England [ACE] this year.

È quello che succede a Emily e Charlotte all’inizio del film. Tra loro c’era anche gelosia, certo, ma poi Emily in qualche modo aiuta la creatività della sorella. Dopo aver letto Cime tempestose Charlotte scriverà Jane Eyre, lo “vomiterà” in un anno, le uscirà di getto, come se finalmente avesse tirato fuori la sua vera voce: “Sarò piccola e ordinaria ma ho qualcosa da dire anch’io”.La musica fluidifica e puntella la narrazione.Ho sempre voluto Abel Korzeniowski (il compositore di A single man, Animali notturni). Gli ho mandato un pezzo di girato e ha detto sì. La musica doveva essere la “traduzione” sonora di quello che Emily prova in vari momenti del film. Siamo stati fortunati, Abel è straordinario. Biografia e finzione si mescolano nel film con una sapiente aggiunta di immaginazione, frutto dell’accurata ricerca condotta dalla regista. A former music journalist who pivoted to filmmaking in her late thirties, Harron has been picky about which projects she takes on and has resisted works for hire. “After ‘I Shot Andy Warhol,’ a lot of biopics about women came my way,” she said. “There was a script about the Brontë sisters that had them sitting around talking about sex as if they were at Starbucks. Rarely are props utilised by Young, and they’re not needed as she commands the stage without the need for them, though her use of large, blinking eyes are a fun addition to one routine. Costume changes also keep things fresh throughout the show, including a skin-tight, black leotard and flowing skirt pairing, a trench coat, and a classic red leotard with red tights for Wuthering Heights. (...)One small improvement would be to hear more of the impressively talented Young performing the much-beloved Wuthering Heights, Kate’s debut single which topped the UK singles charts when she was only 19 years of age.
