Reading Rock Festival in 1977 was a watershed for me. I had never been to any Music gig and at the ripe old age of 22 I decided I was going to Reading. What a choice to make for someone who was only just appreciating rock music.
Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Golden Earring and many more made it a great introduction to the music I have loved ever since. That started me off attending so many gigs from the intimate Peter Gabriel gig at De Montfort Hall in Leicester, where Gabriel walked right past me onto the stage, to the massive Knebworth Concert in 1979 where Led Zeppelin were headlining. Knebworth also had the New Barbarians on which featured Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones.
The music could not have been better and since then I have always been a fan of Rock music, particularly from the 1970s.
