In five months time we’re off on a new Adventure, this time to Australia. In order to ensure the natives are friendly, we have dispatched an advanced party of four intrepid travelers to test out the native’s peaceful intentions. I’ve heard stories and I’ve met Australians and any race that ties Kangaroos down may need to sign a peace treaty with me first.

My step-daughter, her husband and their two girls have just landed  (literally as I type) in Perth where another step-daughter lives. They are there for about three weeks and we travel over in January.

So, hat with corks at the ready we await with baited breath what our expeditionary force reports back to us.

I’m fine with being upside down, don’t mind if the Aussies beat us at any sport and quite like the idea of a barbie on the beach… which I’m assuming is a BBQ and not a liaison with a blonde plastic doll. Though I’ve never eaten bush tucker I have eaten Kangaroo (and Ostrich but that’s another story) and I’m sure their beer and wine are fine. My misgivings are in the critters in Oz. There are more things in Australia that can kill you than anywhere else in the world… so I’m told, much to my consternation. It’s not that I’m afraid of spiders and snakes, we have them here in Cyprus. What concerns me is not knowing what I’m looking at until it’s too late and its bitten your head off, stung you or any other amazing way they have of killing you.

So, once we have the all-clear, we begin the planning stage. Watch this space and I hope it isn’t filled with an obituary.
