I know that this is normally where I have a summary of the book- but this book is just so hard to describe without ruining the story. I'm going to say this- the story is about a school shooting.

The Opportunity High School students find themselves locked in the auditorium after the principal's speech. A few minutes later someone starts shooting. "Everyone has a reason to fear the boy with the gun".

This book has been quite a controversial one. I've been through so many reviews and ratings and what I've understood is that people either hate it or love it. I absolutely loved it!

It uses multiple Points of View, which I know is not the most universally-loved style of writing. This book however needs it. It allows various students- both those trapped inside and those who are trying to help from the outside to explain their perspectives.

The writing is fabulous- although because the book takes place in a very brief setting, the development of characters doesn't play a very prominent role in the novel. However, I found that I didn't really mind that at all. It brought me to tears- actual tears, which hasn't happened in a long time.

I'd suggest that everyone give this book a try. You might hate the one-dimensional characters, or love the intricacy of the plot. You may not like anything about it other than the writing. But the truth is this book reminds us all of the tragedy of school shootings.
