Brief Thought Exercise on White Supremacy

White Supremacy poses that white people are more powerful than they are.  Perhaps we should try looking at white supremacists as less powerful than they think they are.

This might shrink the ranks of the white supremacist.

To do this in real time is probably impossible for most folks.

For some, the simple mental exercise is like defying nature.

It is a strange phenomena that most assaults against White Supremacy and White Privilege actually function like advertisements for them.  If you listen closely, do you feel like the situation will change?  Do you feel empowered by the language to take action?  If so, how long will that action take to correct the problem.

I've seen dialogue in the news that shows many talking about the differences in responses to the Capitol Insurrection and the Black Lives Matter Protest.

I'm not sure how the critique suggests a change of action at this point in time.

One of the side-effects of constant protests, or even the talk of White Privilege is that people who identify as white or are placed in the category of the white (especially those who have less) are more likely to protest.

It's a big ball of wax.  If nothing else Trump is a master of pressing buttons for the white dispossessed.  It takes two to tango, and folks should concern themselves with how there speech affects those who don't agree with them.

The proposition defies American Free Speech.  Though Blacks who operate in predominantly white environments manage free speech with the practical reality of keeping their job and minimizing stress levels.

I really don't envy white privilege.  It seems hard to be white.  Truth is I can't imagine the fear or trauma that creates someone who thinks being a Nazi or hating someone  is cool.

It seems clear White Supremacy is on the rise because America's power is waning.

Perhaps we should ask how do we deal with people who feel powerless in our own lives.  Maybe we do the same thing we do with White Supremacist.

If the response is to say White Supremacy/White Power is undeniable we are back to the statement above that most responses to white supremacy are in fact advertisements for it.  Those who critique it are often in total agreement with those who promote it.

If you were black and thought whites weren't superior would they usher you off to the Hospital For the Negro Insane?

The breakdown in the country right now is our inability to understand that.  For example saying I hate the Police and Fuck the police, rarely changes the opinion of the police.  If it does, it makes a police officer on the fringes consider being more anti-whoever is screaming on them.

The opiod crisis, joblessness, economic downturn from the pandemic, are the real factors in the growth of the Right. We are witnessing a group of people who are suffering from the breakdown of American society seeking other action.

It truly is a question of trauma.

And in spite of all the talk of mind power, most of the rhetoric and language we consume seems to intersect with the traumas we have.  I mean, if you have been beaten by the police, falsely accused, or harassed, that trauma connects you with BLM if you are black.

On the other hand if you lost your job, live in a town of meth-heads, or have experienced the changing dynamics of America and consider yourself white-the radical talk and move towards acts like storming the Capitol become more likely.
