Jay-Jay and His Island Adventure

Dear Readers,

What a delightful children's book! Such a cute story about a bus who bumped his bottom!! :-)

About The Book

Jay-Jay is no ordinary bus.
His journey is full of play.
He is a Playbus, he brings fun and adventure to the children wherever they are.
A safe place to play where children can use their imagination and explore.
Once a real bus his story has been told in many schools.
"We wish he was still here," the children say. "We would love to go inside!"
Well, you can and he is, even if only in fictional form, his story goes on.
The real Playbus proved so popular that the idea was copied by many other play projects.
Always bright and colorful, they stood out from the rest and knowing they were different, the children and other users would come along to look inside and explore to find out what was on offer.
The real Jay-Jay was much loved and fondly remembered.
His fictional story continues.

Jay-Jay and his Island Adventure

Book Review

Jay-Jay is a special playbus who happily greets the children everywhere and all the children excitedly run to him! While inside, children feel warm and cozy, enjoying playtime with special books and wonderful toys. This time, the fun adventure begins with a new destination, an island to discover pirate fun! First, Jay-Jay must get aboard the ferry boat. I love the beautiful illustrations and the word crafting describing how the double decker boat feels about the bumpy ride! Once Jay-Jay reaches the island, the real fun begins as the new children come aboard to find a magical pirate island.
The author has written another great story of treasures and happy memories!

5/5 stars! Highly recommend! My 4 grandsons love this book!

Biography

Have you ever been on a Playbus?
Not an ordinary bus taking you on a journey, exciting though this is, but a bus stuffed full of toys and imagination! When my two children were young they attended a playgroup on such a bus and as a volunteer, I became involved with the committee running the project. The bus really got into my blood and became very much a work of the heart. I ended up painting the bus, as well as working in the groups and raising the profile of the project and its work. As part of the committee and later as play-worker, I was involved in raising necessary funds to replace the old bus with a newer project. It really was a fun journey to be involved in.
curious and asked lots of questions about the playbus. This led to me telling a story which I eventually wrote down. Jay-Jay is the fictional story to go with the actual project.
I have other book ideas in a draft or indeed still in the telling but for now, I can turn my attention to the next part of my bus journey!

If you're interested in more of Sue Wickstead's writing, here's another children's book we enjoyed, called Jay-Jay The Supersonic Bus. Learn how Jay-Jay was rescued from a scrap yard and magically transformed into a playbus.

Happy Reading!
