Well our SFB POTUS is looking to hide information about the coming pandemic. But not to worry because other leaders around the world are trying to out-dumb him. I'm talking about Erdogan in Turkey. He already is illegally in Syria but is looking to push Syria not to take over Idlib. That being said, he does have a point about the refugees. But in case the Europeans didn't understand, he's sending a few refugees their way. If he does open the gates that means a more reactionary Europe, and who knows what that means for the world. It certainly won't be stability.
All this escalation has been pretty bad form from everyone, but as you can see there are few cool heads in the room. I'm still surprised that Russia would hit Turkish troops, but now we have to wonder what's going to happen next. Everyone is an authoritarian. And even is some are more calculating than others there's some level of brinkmanship (or school yard bully games) that means they can't back down too much. Let's see what happens next. I'm guessing a 40% of a pretty damaging shooting war. Europe, meanwhile won't be able to handle the refugees or maybe they ahve to help Turkey in Idlib. Or maybe a coup in Turkey? Let's see.
