My Life This Week

So all around its been a pretty crap week resulting in me feeling very unproductive, though there is a chance that that is just all in my head! I haven't read much this week because I've been super busy. Work has been a nightmare with just about anyone who could make my job more difficult making my job more difficult. I've helped at two bonfires which has completely destroyed two of my free evenings as well as eating into a third because I was making buns to sell, and then there's the fact that we haven't been able to get upstairs while the new staircase is being fitted...fun times!

My Writing This Week

Pretty much like everything else I'm kind of feeling a bit "meh" about how the writing has gone this week. However I haven't yet broken my promise to write/edit/do some author work every day, so that's a bonus! NaNo isn't going great so far, see above, but I have finally got myself into gear and set up a magnet book for my mailing list now that I've regained the rights to one of my short stories. Also my space opera short story that I mentioned last week got selected to be in an anthology which is great news! My Kindle Scout campaign also finished this week so I'm beginning to worry about that!

So what I've written this week:
WIP Class 1 is currently at 20,161 words
Chapter for Author Vs Author  at 1684 words
Nanowrimo project is currently at 2000 ish words

Reading This Week

DNF Renegade by Erica Stevens
Rulebreaker by Kat Bastion & Stone Bastion (2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge, 2016 New Release Challenge, 2016 Netgalley & Edelweiss Challenge
Othello and Zombies by Aaron Frale (2016 New Release Challenge, 2016 Read the Books You Buy)
Fling by Jana Aston (2016 Read the Books You Buy, 2016 New Release Challenge, 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge)

On the Blog This Week

I've had a few non-review posts, including My TBR List which can be voted on now! There's also my End of the Month Round Up for October, and the link up for Bookish Resolutions! I had two blitzes as well, one for Laura Kenyon's Skipping Midnight, and one for Nina Croft's Flying Through Fire!

This week I've review dystopia, Aberrant, and historical romance, the Sins of a Duke, as well as contemporary romances, Cocky Romantic and The Spaniard's Kiss. I've also had the reviews of the end of my binge of Val McDermid's Tony Hill & Carol Jordan series, with The Retribution, Cross and Burn and Splinter the Silence.

Around the Internet

Just to add pressure to one of the things I'm doing with my writing, the first Author vs Author book went live this week! I read an interesting article on the idea that just writing more books isn't the answer to being successful and the role of magnet books, made more interesting by the fact this was already my plan! There was also Masquerade Crew's list of words to use instead of good.

And completely random, but me and my best friend definitely had a moment this week which made it clear exactly why we are best friends!
