The Relentless Weekly Wrap-Up 10/09/2016

Ruminating:
Remember last year when I worked at a bookstore a day or two a week? I needed more hours so I searched elsewhere. I found a fantastic bank job with fantastic people and I adore it a fantastic amount. However, since I started I'm not doing much of anything else. It's technically part-time but it doesn't feel that way. It's no coincidence that I stopped blogging consistently at the very same time I started my new gig.

I'm not sure what to do about it. I've joined the millions of people who are searching for balance. I'm not special, I'm not alone. I am tired. I am frustrated. I am missing the things I used to do and the people I used to spend time with.

Blogging:
Ha ha, nope.
Cooking:
Preparing decent meals with decent ingredients for my family is one of the things I miss most of all. We're going to try something different this week, including Sunday meal prep for the upcoming week. We'll see how it turns out! I did bake this past week. A coworker had a birthday so I whipped up some cupcakes.

Today I'm going to make some cauliflower "fried rice" using this recipe. A few of my friends have made it and raved about it. Healthy and tasty? Sign me up.

Reading:
I'm in the middle of A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I've been in the middle of it for some time. I'm beating a dead horse when I say that I don't have the time I once did, right? It's an absolutely delightful tale, now I only need to get back to it!

Watching:
It's fall so all the goodies are back on the air, hooray! I've finally started Luke Cage. Oooh, that's some good stuff. I thought Jessica Jones was fab and I've been waiting for this.

I also gobbled up season 3 of Transparent. That show is absolutely stellar.

It's amazing how I make time for television but not for books. Hmm. That's a topic I could explore but I'm not going to right now, ha ha.

Inking:
Last week I started the process of getting a new tattoo. The first session was awesome...and awesomely painful after a couple of hours. At the end of this month I'll have this section finished and I'll share pictures. It's big, it's bookish, and it's incredible.

Celebrating:
Last weekend we buried my maternal grandmother's ashes next to her husband's. It was such a moving movement for all of us. We celebrated Grandma's life with a lot of stories, laughs, and cocktails. It's exactly what she would have wanted.

Concluding:
I'd like to wish you all a life as long, as fulfilling, and as worthy of celebration as my grandma's. Go get after it folks, the days are passing.

I'd love to hear about your week. What have you been up to? Cooking anything good? Reading anything great? Watching anything amazing? Let me know!
