Can someone tell me how it’s already 8 days into August when May was only 2 weeks ago? I know I’m not the only one experiencing these weird time jumps, but it’s disconcerting isn’t it?

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week…

Posting: I shared the first post of a new series titled Get to Know Me Monday. In that first installment I gave some insight into my immediate family. It was quite nice to Brag about my husband and kids. I recommend that you brag about your people too! My youngest daughter wrote a guest review about the poetry collection The Summer of Dead Birds. I hope you’ll give it a read.

Reading: I’ve just finished The Black Death: The World’s Most Devastating Plague by Dorsey Armstrong (The Great Courses) I certainly wouldn’t call it uplifting, but it is a fascinating and educational read. People did things they shouldn’t have. They traveled, gathered, and ignored warnings. Isn’t it distressing that it’s the same today during Covid-19? Even with the benefit of modern science folks still insist on going about their days without regard for anyone else. It’s been hundreds of years, but things are much the same. I recommend this book… if you can stand reading it during this time.

Planning: We’ve closed on the refinancing of our current home. This morning we’re off to sign the papers on a camper. This coming week we’ll be closing on lake property. Things are starting to happen in a head-dizzying way. We’re a little bit discombobulated I think. There’s a lot to do, a lot to figure out, and many plans to be made. It’s all very exciting!

Tell me about YOU! What are you reading? What are you cooking? Do you have news to share? I want to hear it all.
