The Relentless Weekly – 07/31/2020

It’s the last Friday of July! Let’s get right to my Weekly wrap-up.

Cooking: I’ve mentioned before that I use Home Chef (for 2 of our meals each week). There are times when we enjoy a recipe enough to try to recreate it. This week I made my own version of Turkey Tinga Tacos that were to die for! Seriously delicious and seriously easy. In other food news, today we’ll receive our monthly delivery of Ice Cream from eCreamery. I gave Mike a subscription for Father’s Day, and he’s loving it. I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s ice cream!

Listening: My current audio is Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt. (Wow!) I’m very much looking forward to listening to Michelle Obama’s new podcast as well. I miss her voice of compassion and kindness. I need that again. We probably all do.

Posting: This week I posted my July Wrap-Up, and my youngest daughter wrote a Women Loving Women guest post for me. I hope you’ll check them out!

Reading: I’ve discovered Maisie Dobbs! I’ve never been tempted to pick up a mystery series before. I saw that the first book was available through my library so I picked it up on a whim. These whims of mine can be rewarding! I read the first two and promptly got on the hold list for the third. I hope I don’t have to wait forever. I’m not a patient woman.

Other Stuff: There are many things going on in the world, and in my personal life. Many of those things aren’t good. They aren’t good at all. But right now I am going to focus on the wonderful.

Foster, my beautiful, brilliant, bragworthy grandson turned 2 years old this week! He’s simply the best human ever made. (Have I explained yet that he is a GENIUS? Perhaps in a future post.) One of the presents we gave him was a toy UPS truck so he could see what Grandpa is driving around in all day. It’s cuter than cute.

A thing I’ve been sitting on, for silly superstitious reasons, is that we’re closing on a piece of lake property soon. I grew up on a lake, and getting back to that was something we’ve talked about for years and years. It’s been a sort of dream, and if I’m being honest I didn’t think it was something we’d be able to make happen. Let me give full credit here to my husband Mike. He has worked so hard for this family of ours. I could go on and on. Maybe I will, one day.

Thanks for reading about my week. It’s been one for the books. (Pun kinda intended?)
