Summary of Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration: The Name for 2024

• AOLLA, our Art of Learning Leadership Academy, we’ve laid a foundation for  business growth. Through planning, we're introducing three tiers of membership, ensuring our members have access to curated Bookish Notes that go beyond traditional book summaries.
• The Invisible Mentor is leveraging insights from a survey of senior-level leaders. We're using this data to create targeted content, courses, and high-ticket offers, setting the stage for substantial business growth.
• On a personal level, the focus is on leveraging the investments made in personal development. It's about moving beyond being “poised for growth” and actively accelerating that growth by applying the knowledge and skills acquired.

Introduction: Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration: The Name for 2024

My name for 2024 is Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration. Years ago, every year, I came up with three words for the following year. I didn’t really pay too much attention to the words I’d selected. Then, for many years, I didn’t follow the practice. About three years ago, I took part in a 10-day challenge to name the year. This year, I signed up for the challenge, but for a part of the time, I was taking a course. The challenge ended, and I had done none of the daily prompts.

It occurred to me I could name the year myself. I meditate a few times each day. It was my thought that while meditating, I could ask, “What should I name my year?” Things seldom go as planned. I didn’t get an answer while meditating. However, while I was responding to a LinkedIn message, poised for growth popped into my head. And I thought, “Oh my God, that’s the name for my year.”

The words made sense to me. For the past two years, I’d been doing a lot of inner work. And I took a lot of courses to level up. There were also several things I needed to work on and complete. When you’re working your way through a process such as this, it’s difficult to work on growing your business simultaneously.

Continuous learning is, and has always been, important to me.

But the story doesn’t end there. When I’ve participated in naming your year, one thing the leader said is, “Does your name have a negative consequence?” I thought about the name for my year – poised for growth. It felt static. What would happen at the end of 2024 if I was still poised for growth.

The name was incomplete, so I made it more action-oriented: Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration. This felt more energetic to me.

Art of Learning Leadership Academy and The Invisible Mentor

The Art of Learning Leadership Academy (AOLLA) is my membership site. When you become a member, you have access to my Bookish Notes. Each Bookish Note includes the summary of the book, big ideas, insights, takeaways, practical applications, one big action to take, important lessons and much more. Bookish Notes are curated based on a theme to allow members to immerse themselves in a topic. That’s a perfect way to lay a solid foundation when learning a new skill or subject.

The Invisible Mentor is my main website. I decided this year I’d host a workshop every quarter, teaching people how to read to learn what they need to know instead of reading strategically. The intent of the workshops is to get more people reading to solve their problems. You can find the solution or part solutions to the problems that plague you. Another intent is to continue to build my personal brand.

What Does Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration Look Like?

Business growth and self-growth require a sound foundation on which to build. When you do these things, you’re poised for growth, and you can grow and accelerate that growth with the right strategy. Let’s take business growth. For AOLLA, I invested time figuring out the three tiers of membership. And that took a considerable amount of time. I pushed the envelope on this, and I’ll need collaborators to help me execute member benefits for the top tier of AOLLA membership.

Also, I came up with themes of books to read to create Bookish Notes. This is based on my experience and talking to people. And I figured out how to get through the books to turn my notes into Bookish Notes. Doing this work is enabling me to create the next 100 or more Bookish Notes. I’m toying with the “project” One Hundred Books to Get an Education. What do you think? Another theme is Books to Read to Get a Personal MBA. And a final one is Books to Read for a Liberal Arts Education.

Providing members access to the right Bookish Notes will help me to compete with the other book summary services. However, I’m not really competing with them. I’m creating something new and bridging an existing gap. Having talked to several professionals who have/had access to book summary services, I was able to identify gaps between what people wanted and what they got from these services.

The Invisible Mentor: Poised for Growth, Growth, Acceleration

I surveyed senior level leaders over a year ago. Now I have information to create content for The Invisible Mentor blog. Years ago, content marketing helped me to secure clients. The trick is to create the right content, and the results of the study will help me do that. Also, some of the research I did for AOLLA is also useful for The Invisible Mentor. I can use the information to create courses.

The other thing is to use the information from the survey to create high ticket offers. I’ve done a lot to build the groundwork, and now I’m ready to grow the business.

Personal Growth

I mentioned previously that I invested in personal development. Now it’s time to use what I learned to move forward. It’s time to leverage my investment, so I can enjoy the payoff. Poised for growth is not enough. It’s important to leverage all I’ve done to grow and accelerate the growth.

I planted the seeds, nurtured them, and now they’re ready to grow. In preparation for growth, I created my strategic plan. Now, it’s time to implement the plan.
