Bareilly Ki Barfi (Hindi) 2017: Is a Romantic Comedy directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari whose directorial debut Nil Battey Sannata received much critical acclaim and was appreciated by audience as well.The film stars Rajkumar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon. All the three have performed very well. The first scene where Bitti's mother wakes her up as her father badly needs a cigarette to answer his nature's call was not just funny, but it is wonderful how she goes in search of one and that whole scene was simply superb! I fell in love with Kriti's character then itself. Not that she smokes or is modern, but at her heart she is too good and lovable.
Similarly, when Ayushman falls in deep love with Bitti and then their budding friendship and love is nice, makes one feel nostalgic. Like the way you taste a Barfi...it is that sweet. Rajkumar who acts innocent as well as Macho at a flip of coin is too good too. All three of them rock the boat with their wonderful performances! They are well supported by Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Bhargava, who plays Bitti Mishra (Kriti Sanon)'s parents in this movie.
I loved the father and daughter relationship, and wish I could be like that with my daughter as well.Bitti was brought up like a son and now, her mother is looking for suitable alliance for her. Meantime, Bitti buys a novel at a railway station which is titled 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'. When she starts reading it she gets a feeling that it is almost about her as the lead character resembles her in many ways, and she falls for the writer of the book Pritam Vidrohi (Rajkummar Rao), who had got much criticism from the readers.
Ayushmann goes in search of the missing writer for Bitti's sake, as he is in love with her. You need to see the movie to know what happens next? Also there is a plot twist towards the end. All in all it is a feel good romantic comedy which is filled with many funny moments that will bring smile on your face. By the way, I started liking Kriti more after watching this movie and she should do more good roles like this one. She is surely a talented actress, just need many more wonderful roles like this one. My rating is 4/5.
