Hokusai’s Making Waves at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston

My husband and I had to scramble to make the Hokusai exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. When it first came out, I earmarked it and felt like I had all the time in the world to see it. Suddenly, I discovered that the exhibit would be moving on in two weeks so we actually scheduled a time to see it and bought tickets. It was well worth it.

Hokusai’s most iconic print is The Great Wave and not only can you view it at this exhibit but other artists’ work drawn from it are also included. His other prints of Mount Fuji are also widely known.

Here’s a video of Making Waves: Hokusai at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston:

I also have a post on Connecting Art and Science with Hokusai’s The Great Wave.

Beautiful prints by Hokusai and other Japanese artists can be used to inspire haiku in my post on Poetry for Kids: Haiku using Japanese Art.
