Celebrate International Jazz Day with Viola Davis

For your next read aloud, how about adding in some lively rhythms of New Orleans jazz and an award-winning storyteller?

Just in time for International Jazz Day on April 30th and during Jazz Appreciation Month, Rent Party Jazz was selected by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation for its latest read aloud on Storyline Online, an interactive literacy website where award-winning actors read popular, award-winning children’s literature to help students fall in love with reading.

A Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People, Rent Party Jazz was written by William Miller, illustrated by Charlotte Riley-Webb, and now read by actress Viola Davis on Storyline Online. Viola Davis achieved the Triple Crown of Acting this year at the 89th Academy Awards (having now won an acting accolade at the Oscars, Emmys, and Tony awards).
