1. How to Use Tachiyomi on iOS

Before you look at the alternatives for tachiyomi, I will be sharing with you, step-by-step, the method to use Tachiyomi on iOS. Follow these steps and you won’t need the alternative apps.

If you follow these steps exactly, you will be able to use tachiyomi on your iPhone. If this method doesn’t work for you, then check out the following tachiyomi alternatives.

2. Paperback App

The best tachiyomi iOS alternative I can give you is Paperback. It is a great manga reading app only for iOS. You can download it from App Store or the Paperback official site. Unlike tachiyomi, you will have to download the extensions from outside the app.

• Before we get to that, you should log into the paperback portal. Logging in is optional, but it would make things easier for you. Once logged in, it would ask you to choose the type of content you want: Restricted, Mature, or Adult. Select whichever one you want.

• Now, go back to the app.
• Go to settings and log into the app.
• Go to external sources in the settings. You will see the official paperback extension. You can delete that, we don’t need it.
• Now download the paperback extensions.

After downloading these repositories, you can enable the extensions in external sources. Now, you can read as many manga as you like.

New manga chapters are simultaneously released in English on the app as they are published in Japan. So, you don’t have to wait even one day extra to read the latest chapter of manga like One Piece.

You can add manga to the “My Shelf” tab. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a download option.

5. Aidoku

Aidoku is a very similar app to tachiyomi. Just like tachiyomi, it is an ad-free open-source app for reading manga. It also uses multiple external sources (extensions).

It is a little difficult to download the app. To download the Aidoku app on your iPhone, follow the instructions below.

• Subscribe to the Aidoku Discord server.
• Click the “Join Beta” button located at the bottom of the #install-info channel.
• Enter your email in the popup window.
• Look in your email for an invitation to the beta, then select “View in Testflight” to view it.
• Get TestFlight from the App Store now.
• Install Aidoku after accepting the invitation from TestFlight.

If you’re a PC user and want to read manga on your desktop, then here are the best tachiyomi alternatives for PC :

1. HakuNeko

HakuNeko is not a manga reader, instead, it’s a manga downloader. It uses sources just like tachiyomi to scrape manga chapters from websites and display them to you. It is also available for iOS.

The manga download format can be changed from images to pdf, cbz, or epub. Download a manga reader like YAC Reader to read the manga downloaded from HakuNeko.

Follow these steps to download manga from HakuNeko :

• Download Hakuneko.exe.
• Launch the software after installation.
• Find the extension from where you wish to download the manga, then connect it.

• To confirm that the website is linked, click the refresh button. It can take a minute, so, be patient.

• Look up a manga, then download the desired chapters.

2. Tachidesk

Since tachiyomi is an open-source application, anybody can access and modify its source code on GitHub. Tachiyomi Forks are simply modified versions of the app. It is accessible on iOS and Windows.

With a library, extensions section, download section, and settings tab, the user interface is simple and neat. In settings, you can change the Reader mode, page number settings, turn on NSFW content, and much more.
