A TEMPLE DEDICATED TO GODDESS

One more Landmark has been added to the Capital City of Tamil Nadu - Chennai.  It's a religious spot which is a very famous one in the other part of South India too. This is a Temple of Goddess Padmavathi the consort of the Lord Balaji residing in the seven hills of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh.

This temple was constructed in the G.N. Chetty Road, T. Nagar and recently opened to the public. The temple is under TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam)

The temple was consecrated recently in March 2023 and the temple is open to devotees from 5 am to 9 Pm everyday.

The ancient temple to Goddess Padmavathi was built in Thiruchanur, near Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh. As per evidence this temple came into existence in the 1221 AD.

Legend says  that the Goddess Lakshmi was born as Alamelu to Akasha Raja, the ruler of the region, and wed Venkateshwara of Tirupati. Goddess Lakshmi gave darshan to Lord Venkateswara on a red Lotus flower (Padma in Sanskrit) at Alamelu mangapuram after his deep penance for twelve years.
The newly dedicated temple to Goddess Padmavathi in Chennai is the replica of the ancient temple in Thiruchanur for the same Goddess.

Do visit the temple in your next trip to Chennai and seek the blessings of the Goddess
