#STOP!

#STOP!

Stop now! Now, right now—not tomorrow, but now. I used to consider myself pretty far to the left, especially in contrast to the so-called American far right. Nope, not true. I am firmly embedded in neutral, non-ideological, non-religious doctrine. True to my astrological sign, Libra, I try to be balanced and see through the fog of grief and anger to a resolution that does not look for winners and losers but for peacemakers.

We humans are Killing the planet with pollution and greed, destroying Human and animal habitats, and  killing babies as if they are a nest of red ants or fleas . . . maybe with even less reflection than we would when stepping on a cockroach.

There is no g-d who would sanction these atrocities–not Hamas’s, not Netanyahu’s, not Putin’s, nor any one of a hundred similar Wolands (devils) inhabiting our planet. And yet, as the song “Sunday” (1983) states:

“What’s the glory in taking a man from his bed and gunning him down in front of his wife and his children?”

Or the sentiment Richard Harris’s 1978 poem evokes:

“Cry shame on you
and shame on you again and again
for converting me into a bullet and shooting me into men’s hearts. I am all mankind; only through kindness will you reach me.”

If we continue down this path, it won’t be the genocide of only one ethnic group, but the genocide of humanity.

Go to your social media and yell as loud as you can to all and any: #STOP!
