From the academic session in January 2024, IGNOU is going to start a four-year degree program in graduation under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The special thing is that due to NEP 2020, students enrolled in ODL for the first time will be able to get their degree from a regular university on the basis of excellent performance with vocational courses for the first time.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all universities to implement the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020 from the academic session 2023-24. Under this, IGNOU is going to start a four-year degree program in the January 2024 session. Now Ignou, which offers the world’s and the country’s largest distance learning, will also provide multidisciplinary studies and multiple entry-exit facilities to students on the lines of other regular universities. The university will start it in dance, music, theater, computer, translation, radio, and television writing courses in vocational courses. Because the university has its setup. In this, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will help under the UGC guidelines.
