About the IGNOU Regional Centre, Chennai

IGNOU Regional Centre, Chennai  is regarded as one of the largest Regional Centres in the country. It was established in the year 1988. The very motive behind the inception of this regional centre was to cater to the educational needs and requirements of the people of the state of Tamil Nadu, Union of Pondichery and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Importantly, this Regional Centre started around Five Learner Support Centres and today there are more than 100 LSCs supporting around 20,000 students. Importantly, the cumulative enrollment of the region today is 1.5 lakh.
