Review

I’ve been on the fence about reading this book since it came out. It has a lot of hype and which I’m always a bit wary about, but I spotted it on a Amazon deal for 99p so I thought what the hell…

I enjoyed the world that Stephanie has created is magical and whimsical which was fresh and interesting. This is def the kind the of book I wanted to be reading when I was in my teens.

Evangeline was an interesting character, I did get a little frustrated with at times, as some of her decision making was a bit shoddy. Jacks I really wanted to like him and I’m still not sure what I do actually think about. He is mysterious and complex.

The story itself was an experience, there were times where I didn’t know what the hell was happening and I think that’s part of the magic of this book, at no point could I figure out what would happen next, except the bits about her sister, I called that from a mile off.

Overall this was a great read. I did enjoy it and I’ll more than likely read the rest of this trilogy.

My Rating: 4/5
