Hello and welcome to Let’s talk, my weekly post where I chat about all different topics but moslty about books.
Today I thought I’d take a look at Social Media and give you some updates on my accounts. When I set up this blog I also created Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to go along with it.
I’m going to be honest I’ve never really enjoyed using twitter, I’ve mainly used to share links to the stuff I post here. I don’t even use my personal account. Then Elon Musk rolled along and it was the final push I needed to just get rid of the account. I officially closed it down in May and I have to say I don’t miss it at all.
I’d say this my facebook page is probably my most baffling account, I have 2.3k followers and barely any engagement… I’m kind meh about it, I don’t even know how I got there many followers on there, but I keep it active as it kind of looks after itself.
Oh, dear lord my bookstagram story is one of frustration and a bit of sadness. It initially thrived when I first started out, I met a few nice people and the community was lovely. Then I took nearly a year out because of life, and it just hasn’t been the same since. The algorithm is just bonkers! I have no engagement no matter what I posted or when I posted or how much I engaged. Its still an active account but I havent post much at all recently because as I said above I put a lot of work into posting and the egagment is nadda. I may look into getting back to in the new year.
TikTok – BookTok
I only started actively posting my own videos last December and I am enjoying being on there, creating video content is different but fun and I’m hoping one day I’ll get the balls to film myself but who knows. I don’t frequantly post on there but its always a hoot when I do.
This is another account where I don’t really post much on. Its a bit like my facebook page, it kind of looks after itself. I try and update it here and there but I’m not very good at it.
