Hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I started college officially yesterday and spent most of the night working on homework so I forgot to pre-make this post. A lot has been happening locally including an apartment building collapsing many people were injured and some are still missing and it’s been a really intense time around here. I love that our community is coming together to add those affected by this life-shattering event but it’s been hard. especially since it feels like our local officials don’t care. Not even 48 hours and the city wanted to demo the building even though they had not swept the building. Due to local protesting it’s been delayed luckily. A woman was discovered an hour before they were going to demo and that wasn’t even a “stop and rethink” for them.

I could talk for hours about this messed up situation and the lack of support the city is not providing. but alas, let’s talk about books.

I finished 2 books last week and both were kinda meh for me. I read The Alien’s Mail Order Bride which is the original book in the Risdaverse Series and it was ok. It was extremely short and doesn’t stand out compared to some of her other books. Overa;;, I’m glad I read it but it doesn’t rank high on my Ruby Dixon list.

I finally finished the I.S.S main series and I am so glad that its over I felt like I was struggling to get through the last 2 books. I think the plot moved a little too easy and there was never any real worry or tension in this plot. YOu knew everything was going to work out and it really felt like the characters were only going places so the other could easily tell you the next plot point. This is one of M. Sinclair’s first book series that she wrote and I’ve like other books by her before so I will be trying another one from her in the future.

I have barely started on this one but I am enjoying it so far. The plot is pretty basic an alien man moves to Earth to find a bride. The alien is navigating “acting human” and is fighting an attraction to his new neighbor. Based on the blurb it doesn’t look like he fights liking her for very long and ends up kidnapping the FMC. I’ve liked books by this author before so I think this will be a good one for me.

I’ve been meaning to get to the Creature Cafe series for a while now it was super popular on Booktok for a while and now that its complete and the author is writing other series that look interesting I thought I should finally start this one to read while she works on her new series. The basic idea is in this world there is a barista who is playing matchmaker and matching people together and its supposed to be steamy and cute and I believe the last book in the series is also the barista’s story so I can’t wait to give this ago.

I’ve really missed talking and interaction with all of you so I leave you with the 3 Ws.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?
