The Book Snob Tag

Tags: book genre snob

I haven’t done a tag in a really long time but I am excited to bring them back and today I decided to join back in with a Book tag I have been seeing around recently. I don’t think I’m much of a book snob myself but I guess we will see after the answers below

Adaptation Snob: Do you always read the book before you see the movie?

No, I like certain types of books and not all the movies I like fit those categories. For me, certain genres work better for me in book format versus the movie.   Most of the time if I read the book I don’t see the movie. I guess that makes me a different type of Adaption snob

Format Snob: You can only choose one format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which do you choose: physical, ebooks, or audiobooks?

Ebook! Honestly, this actually surprised me. However, I do most of my reading now on my kindle. I don’t buy books often and when I do read physical its from the library. Since my schedule is crazy I barely make it there. So I read mostly ebooks.

Ship Snob: Would you date or marry a nonreader?

Of course! As long as my partner doesn’t have a problem with me reading then I’m happy. We don’t have to like the same things as long as we accept each other for who we are than I am happy.

Genre Snob: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Sci-fi is a genre that I almost never read anyway so it’s not a hard one for me to ditch. Honestly, I could pick a few genres for this including horror, thrillers, and mystery since I don’t really read any of those either.

Uber Genre Snob: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?

Romance! This is such a broad genre so I feel like I would be able to read a very large varied collection of books! Plus I’m a romance fiend I don’t think I could not read romance even if I tried!

Community Snob: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Romance for sure!
I think everyone has different opinions on romance but it really is a really broad and inclusive genre. I love that there are so many different types of romance books and I love that it’s a genre predominantly written by women for women.  I wish more people would be open to romance or less judgy of the readers of romance since it’s just a really fun time for so many different people.

Snobbery Recipient: Have you ever been snubbed for something that you have been reading or for reading in general?

My mom was never a big supporter of me being a reader she constantly was asking me to put down my boos and do anything else. As I got older she stopped pestering me as much about it since I wasn’t planning on changing it anytime soon. Outside of that, I’ve never been shamed for reading or reading a specific book before.

I’ve seen this tag around a lot recently so I’m not tagging anyone, however, if you haven’t done this tag feel free to give it try! If you have participated in this tag I would love to see your answers
