You Are Different

Davon Clark wrote a wonderful Book called ' You Are Different', and wanted me to do a review. I must say it's a lovely book written in a poem like narrative. The title itself is quite catchy and inspiring. Continue reading my review so you have an idea as to how the book is interesting and well written. This is just my personal opinion and thoughts on it that I wanted to share with you all.

I would like to first begin with the vivid representation of the books colourful pictures, it is quite eye catching and interesting. The images, illustration shown and the simple words used engage and capture the readers attention. The story like poem is quite  engaging in how it asks the reader repetitive questions, involving them and drawing them into the authors world.
The books looks at a diverse culture of people who are different and unique, it looks at everyone from all backgrounds. Its not easy fitting in when you believe and stand  by your dreams, or even worse when you look different in your body appearance. The story encourages us to continue dreaming and never give up on our dreams even when others look at us differently. The story is broken down into  stanzas or columns for easy understanding for all  ages. starting with our important personal senses like sight, hear, smell, feel and taste. Something that we always use and would never forget. Its IMPORTANT to never lose sight of your dreams  and in spite of challenges to still believe and press forward, for you never know where your dreams will take you.
Not everything you Hear is true and I love the  fact that it also talks about our sense of hearing and how we can hear things about ourselves that are not true and not to always believe it because it can stop us from becoming who we are meant to become. As a reader I feel encouraged and motivated  not to stand down but to fight for myself, my worth, for my dreams because in doing so I'll succeed in achieving those dreams. Another aspect to look at is Smell, its always a human flaw to assume things that are not true in others to make generalisations that are not based on anything other than opinion. Judging you based on what you look like. Overly confidence seen as being eccentric rather than you being yourself. Its important to always believe in yourself no matter what. When you get caught up in achieving those dreams people feel like you never make time for them and  to slow down, what they don't realise is that you have set goals and would want to make most of time and achieve that. It can be easily misinterpreted. The way we dress changes all the time, fashion changes all the time and I like that fact that the book touches on this aspect of fashion too. People should be able to dress however they want  and are comfortable with ,without being judged  or looked down on. Its always best not to let anyone change you and your style of dressing no matter how you look like . It's always good
to put on a smile,to never let anyone take your smile.

we are all different, our eyes, nose, ears, mouth, fingers and nose. The book looks at that. Personally I have learnt that looking past all the outward appearances  the best thing you can be is yourself. Overall I really enjoyed this book, it felt like all the issues its addressing are real, and  close to home. I like the fact that everyone can identify with the different situations and can feel inspired to not give up but to always be ourselves. I would highly recommend this book to anyone  who desires to follow  their dreams. I personally think Davon is a terrific writer for I believe it's important for everyone to be true to themselves. I would be definitely be reading this book again .
