March Wrap-Up

Can the year please slow down????? Suddenly everything is creeping up on me!

March was busier than I expected. When remembering what I have done this month I was surprised at how busy I have been. No wonder I am panicking about not doing enough college revision!

Books read:

DNA by Dennis Kelly
3 stars

I borrowed this script from my theatre buddy (Emma), she is a drama student and shares my love for musicals so I have slowly been working through all her plays. This play was not what I expected.. it got dark..

My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent
3 stars

After promising to read this series for yearssss.. I finally started. I enjoyed the concept of this Book but feel I would have definitely liked it more if I had read it at a younger age. I do still plan on continuing the series.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer
5 stars

I loved this book! I began this book unsure how I'd feel about it as I have heard lots of amazing things about it but I am not a big fan of superheroes. I really enjoyed it and am really excited to see what direction the story goes. Definitely one of my favourite books of the year.

Archenemies (Renegades 2) by Marissa Meyer
4.5 stars

Technically I finished this book in April but since it is the 1st I'll add it here as I read most of it in March.
Although this book was a bit slower than the first book, I still loved it. It ended up getting very intense very quickly and I need to know what happens next!!

Favourite stuffs:

Heathers West End Cast album

I was fortunate enough to see Heathers performed at the West End starring the amazing Carrie Hope Fletcher back in November, so I was very excited when the cast album came out. Carrie has such a great voice and some of the songs are different from the original soundtrack. I know there is some debate over which songs are better, but personally I prefer 'You're Welcome' more than 'Blue'. Also 'I Say No' is incredible!!

Tom Walker

I started listening to Tom Walker this month and I am really loving his music. His voice is so raw and natural. I especially love the songs 'Rapture', 'Leave a Light On' and 'The Show'.
I found out about Tom Walker as he features on Dodie's song 'Human' (Yes, everything links back to Dodie somehow).
Also I really recommend watching this video to remind you that humanity can be lovely: Tom Walker - What a Time To Be Alive (Track by Track)

Stuff bought/gained:

The Book of Bera by Suzie Wilde

I'm not going to talk much about this as I wrote a whole post about the day I got it HERE.

Dodie T-shirt

I have wanted this T-shirt for agesss. Dodie herself wears this design a lot and I really like the simplicity of it. One day I was looking at it online and just accidentally ended up buying it.. who knows what possessed me..
The only flaw with the design is that it is pure white and the first day I got it I spilt tea all down it... luckily it is safe and recovered from the traumatic experience.
Paired with my new skirt (also in picture on right) I really like the outfit and can now openly show my love for Dodie.

Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts surprise pack

As I visited the House of MinaLima once again this month; (if you have never heard of them, they are the graphic designers for the Wizarding World and as a Graphic Design student, and massive fan of Harry Potter they are the perfect role models) I looked around their exhibition and obviously couldn't stop myself from buying some of their beautiful artwork. As I am very indecisive, I decided to try their lucky dip bags which contained a selection of their items and designs. In mine I got a Marauder's Map card holder, an Advanced Potion Making bookmark and a set of postcards including designs to do with the Second Salemers from Fantastic Beasts. All the designs are stunning and the postcards even came in a beautifully designed box.

Things done:

Writing and Publishing Weekend

As mentioned earlier, I have done a whole post on this event HERE.

Reorganised bookshelf

On World Book Day I finally got around to reorganising my smaller bookshelf. It had gotten so bad and looks so much better now. I even got rid of 5 bags of books which I took to a charity shop.

Washed my car

This may seem a strange thing to include but it made me feel really grown up (I'm weird, I know). It was the first time I'd washed it (with the help of my boyfriend) since I got it (I waited way too long) and it just felt like ADULTING.
London Doctor Who Tour + other sights

As it was my boyfriend's birthday this month, I took him to London for his present. The main purpose of the trip was a tour of the Doctor Who filming locations and inspirations around London as he is a big fan of the series (I have watched all of the reboot series but am nowhere near up to his standards of DW knowledge).
As the day was so eventful I'm going to make a whole post out of it so keep an eye out for our London adventures which I'll hopefully post soon!

Sorry this post was so long, I have had so much going on. April looks to be a busy month too!
Is it just me who feels like the year is already flying by?
