Welcome to Liber Amoris (..again)

Welcome to Liber Amoris. If you're an old follower- hello again.
I am making my big comeback to Blogging *insert dramatic music*.
In an attempt to give an insight into where on earth I disappeared to (maybe I wasn't on earth..) I am doing the 'Getting Back to Booktube' tag (adapted for a blog) by vincentvanstop. I'm also giving a brief update on my past year and what I've been up to.

Getting Back to Booktube tag:

1. Why haven't you been making videos (blog posts)?

Well this is a heavy question to start..
I could just say something like I've been busy (which I have) and my mind is just overflowing with deadlines (also true), but the main reason I haven't been posting is lack of motivation due to mental health. I know in this modern age it isn't exactly uncommon to hear this and I don't want to just be another part of a group who struggles to cope with life.
In short, I just lost any ounce of motivation to do anything. This included college work, keeping up to date with the Book Community, and even reading in general.

2. What have you missed about making videos/booktube (blogging) in general?
I have missed being a part of the book community. It got to the point that I'd walk into a bookshop and not know anything about the new releases on the shelves. I like being able to get excited over releases and to be able to point out books I want to read. I also like having a place I can discuss the books I did read and finding out other people's opinions.

3. What are some books you want to read, even though the hype has died down and/or you've been otherwise unable/unmotivated to read them?
  • Lord of Shadows & Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare (+ any other of her non-stop writing I've missed)
  • Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak (why have I not read this?!!!)
  • Gmorning, Gnight! by Lin-Manuel Miranda

4. In a perfect world, what are your reading and uploading schedules like?
My aim is to get back to my routine of posting once a week (haven't decided which day yet), but this may not be an immediate return, I think I'm going to post as much as I can and gradually build up to a frequent schedule.

5. Why do you want to stay on booktube (blog) and not just call it quits?
All the reasons I listed for question 2 and so much more. I really enjoy blogging and having the opportunities to be in contact with authors and other book lovers as a result of it!

So what have I been up to?

I am currently in my second year of college (year 13) studying A-Levels in Graphic Design and English (I know you're meant to do three subjects, but I'm rebellious). Recently, I turned 18 which means I am supposedly an adult- but we all know I am just a kid at heart. This year, I also passed my driving test, so you'd better stay clear of the roads because I'm coming for you *insert evil laugh*

During my Summer holiday, I went on a trip to Suffolk with my amazing boyfriend to visit my dog who's working in the police force. While we were there, we also visited some lovely places nearby, including a Harry Potter film location.

The Crimes of Grindelwald film was released recently and I was lucky enough to see it before the release date in a double-bill viewing of the Fantastic Beast films so far!

I have always been very passionate about musicals and it is something I am planning on talking about more on my blog. The most recent musical I have seen was Hamilton in London. I saw this for my birthday and it definitely lived up to all of my expectations (which was a lot).

I am looking forward to blogging more regularly again and plan to participate in exciting events in the future.
