1 year of Liber Amoris!!!!!!!!!

Today marks 1 year since I started Liber Amoris (which stands for 'Love Books' in Latin in case you were interested). Wow, it only seems like yesterday that I started creating content for it. I still feel new at it and that my posts are still amateur and that I don't actually have a clue what I am doing most of the time. As it is a whole year since I published my first post I decided to share some things I have learned along the way though there are still many things I am learning. (PS. No I did not make that cake, someone incredibly talented on google images did).

1. Practice can not do any damage.

I know the saying "Practice makes perfect". Though I do not believe that there is such a thing as 'perfect', I do know that you will improve. I know when I first started blogging I did not have the first clue what I was doing and my writing felt awkward and unnatural but over time I have found it easier and easier to write. Go ahead, mock me and see if I am right, I do believe that my writing has greatly improved- My first post.

2. Be in it for yourself

Do not let it take over your life. Blogging is a hobby and a passion and should not have any rules laid down by anyone but you. If you usually update every Friday like I aim to do yet you are really tired and don't feel in the mood for typing then just save it for another day! I am often late.

3. Only share what you are comfortable with

Do not ever share anything that you do not feel comfortable sharing. Every post I make I have a photo header- what you don't know is that to display that one photo I take about 20 different pictures until I get one that I am happy to share on the internet. Think of it like this- if you would feel uncomfortable if your grandparents or teacher saw it, don't show the rest of the world via the internet.

4. Do not focus on the number of followers

Yes, it is nice to know that people actually read the work that you put into each post but do not use that as your main goal. I personally use my blog as a kind of bookish diary. In the future I can look back and see the books I have read, the events I have joined and the oppurtunities I was offered.

That's it for my tips. I would just like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who follows and supports my love for books. I appreciate every single view and aim to reply to every comment I receive.
Finally, here are a few of my favourite posts from the last year:

Bookmas Tree
The Mystery Blogger award
Cosplay Adventures with Chloe

Thank you again!!!! (PS. I got pretty scared holding a candle so close to my precious books)
