Summer reads!!

Here in England we have finally had a whole week of good weather!!!!!! Since this is such a rare occurrence I decided to just hop on to the summer theme while I can although I am totally going to jinx it now...........
I am going to recommend some books that have a summery feel to me. Not strictly because they take place in summer, they are just books I associate with the season.

We Were Liars by E.Lockhart

This book is an obvious summer read. It is a short contemporary which is my go to genre for summer. This is also set over a series of summers.
I highly recommend this book but prepare yourself, it blows your mind.
This is a good book to read in a nice sunny afternoon as it is short and easy to read in one sitting.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

This is another contemporary which gives me very strong summery vibes.
This is a simple and easy to read book which you can read and relax without intense concentration.
All the characters are lovely and make you smile.
Warning: bring a box of tissues, may be emotional....more like heart-breaking.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

This is a spin off book from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (also a good summer read). It is a very light-hearted and humorous book and is enjoyable for Harry Potter fans (everyone).
This book has one of the cutest OTPs in existence and gives you a nice warm and fuzzy feeling when you read it.

The Shadow Queen by C.J.Redwine

Another genre I like to read in the summer are retellings.
The Shadow Queen is a Snow White retelling and is really enjoyable.
It has strong characters and plot and is quite short so  you can read it quite quickly.
This book also has some awesome character names.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

This last book may seem a bit out of place on this list and I can't really work out why I feel like it belongs here.
This book is an intense, fast-paced thriller which will leave you on the edge of your seat.
I can't decide how it's summery but you should definitely go read it!

That's it for all of my summer reads.
What books do you like to read when it is nice and sunny?
Have an amazing summer!

Kaitlin
